I was hell bent this sheep was going to headline our Blue Bloods/Young Guns set, as my ultimate goal was to take a damn good set of wethers south.
A good friend of mine came thru a few weeks prior to the Texas sales to look at babies, and then continued to spend the better part of 24 hours convincing me that this sheep had the pieces I had been looking for all spring, and also had the pedigree to boot. Needless to say, sometimes we all need a little PERSUASION to push us to make those big decisions on big time sheep.
PERSUASION is truly a unique creature, and he’s going to see a lot of ewes here - freaky tall shouldered, radical caged, monster pinned, cracked open and good bodied all on a set of tree trunks.

What’s a Liger? (Cue the Napoleon Dynamite reference)
It’s basically my favorite animal ever.
While we never got around to formally introducing or picturing Liger before we put him to work, he was my pick of the Unicorn’s at Allen/Newcomb that spring, and we were stoked to get him bought off their buck sale. In just his first lamb crop (2022) he sired the Reserve Grand at South Dakota State Fair, the Champion Commercial Ewe at LSU Spring Show, Reserve Hamp – LSU Spring Show, Champion Prospect – State Fair of LA, Reserve Grand – Mid-American, 4th Overall – MS Youth Expo and a Class Winner at Arizona Nationals. We were really fortunate to make a trip back to South Dakota last winter to find not only Uncle Keith, but also this guy MAGIC DONKEY. We love his extension, his hip structure and true muscle shape. Add to it, his genetic full sister, carries the exact same touch, muscle shape, and pin set as Magic Donkey.
We have a ton of confidence in Magic Donkey and, along with Alexander Club Lambs, have used him heavy for 2017 lambs. Thanks to AWTR for the opportunity on Magic Donkey!

This spring I was in search of a big hipped, big butted buck to bring in as on outcross on our lined up Impact ewe base. After several trips across the midwest, I knew this one was the buck I needed before the AWTR guys could even get a beer out of the fridge for me.
“Uncle Keith” comes from a standout Tundra daughter, 2209 – she’s the mom of “Pocket Pet”, who is the dam of Sole Custody (Raised by Repasky, purchased by Dee Brothers this spring), as well as the 3rd Overall at Ohio State Fair for Meg Winters. In addition, 2209’s flush this year was one of the most consistent flushes I’ve seen – we thought so much of the flush we bought into the two flushmates on the OYE Rack Pack Sale that AWTR offered. Several wethers with promising futures also came out of this flush as well - including Phoebe Sanders' Reserve Division 1 at the American Royal & Iowa State Fair.
